For one so young (only 25), Rebecca Tillett has achieved a great deal: she is an accomplished photographer with a quirky, imaginative style of her own.
Her photography is both gritty and colourful, charged with emotion and eroticism. As she says herself, “a large majority of my work is based on human lust and sexuality”.

For one so young (only 25), Rebecca Tillett has achieved a great deal: she is an accomplished photographer with a quirky, imaginative style of her own.
Her photography is both gritty and colourful, charged with emotion and eroticism. As she says herself, “a large majority of my work is based on human lust and sexuality”.
Raised in the New Mexico desert, she currently lives in Colorado with her husband and two cats. She is passionate about her work and is non-fussed by the fact her degree in Graphic Design is yet to be completed. Judging by her success so far, there is absolutely no need.
There is a refreshing sordidness recurrent in Rebecca’s work. The beauty of her models is contrasted with incongruous backdrops such as peeling paint, a grubby bathroom, a graffiti daubed wall. Her models have attitude: they may be flicking the middle finger, chewing gum, brazenly revealing a breast, sitting on the toilet or draping themselves irreverently across a sofa. They are photographed in unconventional poses in conventional urban or domestic environments. The images she creates have a rawness and brutal honesty about them as she often snaps the model before he or she poses, capturing a more interesting, more intriguing or more intimate moment.
The models in her more sexualised shots strike uncompromising poses. Rebecca makes no effort to embellish the human form, only to portray it with honesty and raw feeling. The skilful use of light and shade give the erotic images an ethereal feel. She normally doctors her images in Photo Shop, intensifying the colour of her subject and dulling the backdrop to give a surrealist edge and film like quality.
Whilst some of her nudes exude self confidence and lack of inhibition, others suggest uneasiness and anguish, perhaps an unwillingness to accept their own bodies, as can be seen in a close up photo of a headless, bare-chested model with pierced nipples who anxiously grasps at her own flesh on her stomach.
All this and, according to her, her style is still under construction. Watch this space.
This is an interesting question because I think sex plays a large role
in everyone's life we just don't pay enough attention to acknowledge that fact.
Speaking as a typical married American woman, sex plays a large role in my personal life as it's a very important part of my relationship with my husband.
In my photography, sex plays a much larger role as a large majority of my work is based on human lust and sexuality.
What image turns you on?
Too many to list here. I can be very easily aroused at times.
Where did You have Your first sexual experience?
My first real sexual brush with the opposite sex occurred on a trip to the mountains I took with some friends over spring break in highschool.
Which dish do you “devour” with greatest delight?
Dill pickles, artichoke hearts, steak, any and all pasta.
